CMG Star sing contest had a perfect ending

CMG Star had been through 6 mass-election, semifinals and finals to produce top ten singers. After 3 hours, Sun, a student of marketing and management in the Melbourne University who became the winner of the CMG Star song contest.

 

CMG Star is a singing competition which is hold in the Melbourne University. It spent 1 month to prepare election and activity space from 18 April to 18 May, 2016. 10 of singers started the final singing competition at MSD B117 (Melbourne School of Design)Theater between 6.30p.m.and 10.00p.m.This competition divided into 2 parts, Ray, Claire, Grace, Jessica and Tan Hei started at the first half. Nyx, Shall, Sun, Amo and Sherleen started at the second half. Scoring system consisted of two components, one was the judges scored and judged the scene, the other was audience vote. Jenny McCallum, Feng Wang and LeHeng Yao as judges of competition to review on scores. Jenny McCallum, a professor of Vocal Music in the Melbourne University who majored in Music of Southeast Asia. Feng Wang was a popular local music producer in Melbourne and had his own band. LeHeng Yao was proprietor of CMG.

 

“Our singer competition only face to students so that we can offer a fairness, justice and professional judges of the stage for them,” said Qiu Shi, who was the CMG minister. “The final space is a troublesome problem because performance show in a busy season, so is difficult to predetermine some ideal spaces.”

 

Sun, a winner of CMG Star, who sang “Snow in June” in the final. It reflected a popular distortion values in society. He wanted to make more people pay attention to mental health. “I hope all of contestants to continue singing forever, music is a kind of art and the spiritual production of human which support us to enjoy life,” he said.

 

MUCMG (The Melbourne University Chinese Music Group) is a Chinese music-related association which offers students a platform to participate Chinese cultural music activities. The University of Melbourne provides valuable funding that support students doing live music and other musical activities. It had their own professional band and music drama group. In addition, it also had sing contest every year, CMG Star was the first competition. Outside of the competition, CMG had a plan to hold an original music drama, concert performance and currently recruit people to join the CMG on the latter half of the year.

“We want more people have interest in Chinese music and concentrate on preparing music concert and drama,” said Patrick, a deputy director of CMG. “We hope CMG can become bigger and bigger and to hold better, we hope everyone can join Chinese music group and the Chinese music.”

 

“Since I joined CMG, I studied various musical knowledge and built up my ability of propaganda,” said Echo, a marketing officer of CMG.
